Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

For

Halo Salon

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

We have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon we have implemented a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments

If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we will have to cancel or move your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

We will no longer be able to do any extra treatments like nail art unless these have been pre-booked before your visit.

Visiting the Salon

Government guidelines state there will be no need for Perspex screens in between clients and our staff during treatments, if our staff wear face visors. Perspex screens will offer no extra protection than a face visor.

Please knock on the door and wait to be welcomed into the salon.

When you arrive to the salon please respect the 2 metre social distancing rules before and after your treatment.

We ask that you try not to touch surfaces in the salon where possible to reduce your risk of infection.

The bathroom will be available to use and will be cleaned regularly, but we advise trying not to use it to reduce your risk of infection

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving.

We ask that you attend your appointment alone.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products every hour.

Workstations will be cleaned after each client. All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

We will have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon.

Masks will be compulsory for all visitors to the salon from 8th August. Masks will be compulsory for all therapists and hairdressers from 15th August, unless they are medically exempt. Receptionist aren't required to wear a face mask, and will be wearing only a visor.

Please don’t be surprised or upset if our staff use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include face visors, face masks, disposable gloves and aprons where appropriate.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels, aprons and uniforms is a priority. We can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60°C after each use.

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area every day.

We will no longer be able to offer drinks for you during your visit to the salon. You are more than welcome to bring your own but you must take them away with you after.

Following government guidelines, we have asked staff to reduce talking much during treatments so please don’t be offended if they aren’t as chatty as normal.

Our treatments

We have carried out a risk assessment on all our treatments and we have decided that the following treatments cannot be provided until further notice: - any treatments that need to be carried out around the face like brows, lashes, facial waxing and facials.

Please note when we reopen there will be a small price increase on our treatments due to the increased cost to cover the extra PPE required and the extra time taken to keep the salon clean and safe for our clients and staff

During your treatment

Our staff understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.

After the treatment

In order to avoid handling of cash, we would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thanks you for your understanding.
